So I'm Liz, and this is my exercise in learning how to make a website as well as indulging my nostalgia for old internet culture (I remember when this was the only way to do things on the internet! Before social media!). I'm just kind of a normal lady. I'm an elder Millienial, I do a lot of fiber arts, I'm a practicing witch and a pagan, I write poetry and occasionally update my dreamwidth journal (below). I spend a lot of time thinking about aesthetics, symbolism, history, and the like.

Main hobbies: Crochet, cross-stitch, embroidery, all other sorts of crafting, cooking, playing with Neocities, writing poems, observing wildlife, perceiving mosses and lichens, enjoying that mushrooms exist.
I also run a weekly book discussion group on the Critical Thinking Witch Collective Discord, a weekly stitch'n'bitch with my friends (also on discord), and a monthly "Back It Up Party" on (yes) Discord. That last one is to have a recurring reminder to back up your data offline.
Factoid: "Chrome and Velvet" was a random title I gave to my 1980s aesthetic blog on tumblr and it just kinda stuck. I love retro, vaporwave, 80s/90s aesthetics, pastel aesthetics, etc. so they all combined into one big idea and that's what I named this site.
